Fiverr fees explained: what it takes in 2026

By Fees.tools · Updated · Fees verified

Fiverr keeps 20% of every completed order. Its own wording is the other way round: a seller earns 80% of the purchase amount, including Gig Extras and tips. Buyers are charged separately, 5.5% of the purchase amount plus $3.50 on orders under $200, on top of the price rather than out of the seller's earnings. This guide sets out each rate as Fiverr publishes it, with worked examples computed by the same engine as the Fiverr fee calculator. Every figure is quoted from Fiverr's help centre and was verified on 3 September 2026.

What Fiverr charges the seller

One line, and it does not move with order size, category or seller level. A $100 order and a $10,000 order are charged the same 20%, and both carry the same $1 fee if the earnings are withdrawn by bank transfer.

On a standard Gig order, the fee on $100.00 is $20.00 and you keep $80.00, an effective rate of 20%.

Fiverr states the deduction as earnings rather than as a fee — "you earn 80% of the purchase amount, including Gig Extras and tips" — so the 20% is the complement of the 80% it publishes, not a second figure. There is no listing fee, no monthly fee and no separate processing charge.

What the buyer pays

The buyer's fee is a different rate, charged at checkout rather than deducted from the seller: "The standard service fee is 5.5% of your purchase amount, and we add a $3.50 fee to orders under $200."

Charged toFeeWhen it applies
Seller20% of the purchase amountEvery completed order, including Gig Extras and tips
Buyer5.5% of the purchase amountEvery payment
Buyer$3.50 small-order feeOrders under $200 only

The $3.50 is a bracket, not a graduated band: charged in full below $200 and not at all from $200 up, so a purchase just over the threshold can cost a buyer less than one just under it. Every payment carries its own fee: an order, a Gig Extra and a tip are each charged separately.

Because it never touches the seller's balance, the calculator here models the seller's side only.

Getting the money out

Fiverr charges a smaller fee when earnings leave the balance, once per withdrawal rather than once per order, so it matters most to sellers who withdraw often.

Withdrawal methodFeeMinimum withdrawal
PayPal$0$1
Bank transfer (via Payoneer)$1$20
Payoneer account$3$10
Fiverr Revenue Card, about 2 days$1$30
Fiverr Revenue Card, express (about 2 hours)$3$30
On the same order withdrawn to a Payoneer account, the fee on $100.00 is $23.00 ($20.00 seller service fee plus $3.00 withdrawal to a Payoneer account) and you keep $77.00, an effective rate of 23%.

The Revenue Card was discontinued in December 2022 and works only for existing holders. PayPal and Payoneer may apply their own currency-conversion charges once the money leaves Fiverr.

Pricing a Gig to keep a target amount

Adding 20% to the amount you want undershoots, because the fee is charged on the higher price as well. The calculator's "I want to net" mode solves it directly.

To keep $500.00 you charge $625.00, and the fee is $125.00.

What this guide leaves out

Four charges this schedule does not model. Logo Maker pays sellers on a separate tier model, 20% to 50% by 12-month sales volume, instead of the flat 80% share. Hourly contracts carry an initiation fee priced apart from the order. Fiverr Embed has its own terms. And the 1% early payout fee, for releasing cleared funds ahead of schedule, is not part of the standard order fee. Fiverr publishes no per-country pricing: the schedule above is global, in USD.

When these rates last changed

Fiverr's Payment Terms state these service fees as being in force from September 2025, the effective date carried here. The schedule was verified on 3 September 2026, the first entry in the Fiverr fee changelog, and is re-checked at least every 60 days.

It is marked medium confidence. The seller and buyer rates agree across Fiverr's help centre and its Payment Terms, but the Payoneer-operated withdrawal methods differ between them: the Payment Terms describe a Local Bank Transfer at $3 and a US-only Direct Deposit ACH at $1, where the help-centre table lists one bank transfer at $1. The figures here follow the help-centre table. The methodology explains that judgement, the schedule is quoted line by line, with the verbatim source text behind every rule, in the calculator's fee table, and a wrong figure can be reported.

Frequently asked questions

Does Fiverr take 20% from every order?

From every standard Gig and hourly-contract order, yes, including Gig Extras and tips. Logo Maker sales are the exception.

Do buyers pay a Fiverr fee as well?

Yes, 5.5% of the purchase amount plus $3.50 on orders under $200, charged at checkout. It is added to the buyer's total and does not reduce what the seller receives.

What is the cheapest way to withdraw Fiverr earnings?

PayPal, at $0 per withdrawal with a $1 minimum. Whichever method you use, withdrawing in larger and less frequent amounts pays the fee fewer times.

Where do these numbers come from?

Each rate is quoted verbatim from Fiverr's help centre and cross-checked against its Payment Terms, saved as a dated snapshot. The worked examples come from the same engine as the calculator, so guide and tool cannot disagree.
