Grailed fees explained for 2026

Grailed charges a US seller a commission of 9% on a sale price of $120 and above, or 6% with a minimum of $1.99 below that, plus a separate payment processing fee starting at 3.49% + $0.49. This guide sets out both as Grailed publishes them, with examples computed by the same engine as the Grailed fee calculator. Every rate is quoted from Grailed's fees article and its sibling on payment processing, cross-checked against Grailed's Terms of Service, and verified on 3 September 2026.

The two fees a seller pays

Listing is free, and Grailed states that the commission applies to domestic and international transactions alike.

On a $100 sale, with your Stripe account onboarded, the fee on $100.00 is $9.98 ($6.00 seller commission plus $3.98 payment processing — Stripe onboarded, domestic) and you keep $90.02, an effective rate of 9.98%.

The $120 line, and what counts as the sale price

The bracket is decided by the sale price, which is not always the listing price. Grailed defines it as the listing price your item sells for plus any shipping charged to the buyer, unless you use a Grailed Label, in which case it is the listing price alone.

So shipping matters near the line: a $110 listing with $15 of buyer-paid shipping is a $125 sale price, charged at 9%.

On a $110 listing with $15 of buyer-paid shipping, the fee on $110.00 is $16.10 ($11.25 seller commission plus $4.85 payment processing — Stripe onboarded, domestic) and you keep $93.90, an effective rate of 14.64%. On the same listing sent with a Grailed Label, the fee on $110.00 is $11.45 ($6.60 seller commission plus $4.85 payment processing — Stripe onboarded, domestic) and you keep $98.55, an effective rate of 10.41%.

The processing fee does not move between those two: Grailed's Terms of Service say it "will be assessed on the total transaction amount, including shipping and tax (if applicable)". A Label takes shipping out of the commission base only.

Where the $1.99 minimum bites

The reduced bracket reads "6% (minimum $1.99)". Six per cent reaches $1.99 only at a sale price of about $33.17, so anything cheaper is charged the flat $1.99.

On a $20 sale, the fee on $20.00 is $3.18 ($1.99 seller commission plus $1.19 payment processing — Stripe onboarded, domestic) and you keep $16.82, an effective rate of 15.9%.

With the processing fee's fixed $0.49 on top, a $20 sale costs about a sixth of its price. The schedule is built for expensive clothing, and is proportionally cheapest in the middle of the reduced bracket.

Your Stripe status sets the processing rate

Grailed publishes three complete processing schedules rather than one rate plus surcharges, and which applies depends on whether you have onboarded with Stripe — the only one of these fees a seller can change.

On a $100 sale in a Stripe country without onboarding, the fee on $100.00 is $10.48 ($6.00 seller commission plus $4.48 payment processing — Stripe-eligible, not onboarded, domestic) and you keep $89.52, an effective rate of 10.48%.

The gap on a domestic $100 sale is $0.50, the fixed part rising from $0.49 to $0.99, and it widens abroad, where not onboarding costs 5.49% instead of 4.99%.

On a $100 sale to a buyer abroad, onboarded, the fee on $100.00 is $11.48 ($6.00 seller commission plus $5.48 payment processing — Stripe onboarded, international) and you keep $88.52, an effective rate of 11.48%.

Sellers outside a Stripe-eligible country pay a flat 4.99% + $0.49 with no domestic or international split, so a buyer's location makes no difference to them.

Pricing to a target payout

Both fees are charged on the price you set, so adding them to what you want to keep lands short.

To keep $100.00 you charge $111.02, and the fee is $11.02.

One trap is specific to Grailed: because the commission jumps from 6% to 9% at $120, the payout falls as the sale price crosses that line, and a $119.99 sale leaves you more than a $120.00 sale. Two prices can reach the same target, and the calculator returns the cheaper one.

What this guide leaves out

Grailed publishes no listing fee, no payout fee and no currency-conversion charge, so none is modelled. Also out of scope: sales tax and import duty, which its terms put in the processing fee's base without stating a rate; the cost of a Grailed Label, deducted at whatever the carrier charges; promotional commission rates, which Grailed says may apply under separate terms; and sellers outside the United States.

When these rates last changed

Grailed dates the reduced 6% bracket to sales on or after 20 May 2026, and gives no date for the standard 9% rate or for any processing rate.

It was first verified on 3 September 2026 against those two Help Centre articles and Section 7 of the Terms of Service. Those terms confirm both fees exist and are deducted from the seller's proceeds, but defer the percentages to the Help Centre, so nothing independent corroborates the numbers and confidence is medium. The Grailed fee changelog holds that one entry; later changes go there with the rule they affect, and the schedule is re-checked at least every 60 days.

Frequently asked questions

Does Grailed take 9% of everything?

No. Nine per cent is the standard rate for a sale price of $120 and above; below that it is 6% with a minimum of $1.99. Both brackets cover domestic and international sales alike.

Is the commission charged on shipping?

Yes, unless you ship with a Grailed Label. The sale price includes any shipping charged to the buyer, so it raises the commission and can push a sale into the 9% bracket. The processing fee covers shipping either way.

How do I pay the lower processing rate?

By onboarding with Stripe, if you are in a country Stripe supports. That moves you from 3.49% + $0.99 to 3.49% + $0.49 on domestic payments, and from 5.49% to 4.99% on international ones.
