How much does Eventbrite take from a $100.00 ticket?
For paid ticket in United States, Eventbrite charges 3.7% of the amount plus a fixed $1.79 (service fee (per paid ticket)) plus 2.9% of the amount (payment processing fee (per order)). Each fee line is rounded half-up to the nearest cent, as the platform bills it, and what you keep is the amount minus the sum of those lines.
A paid ticket ticket: on $100.00 you pay $5.49 (service fee (per paid ticket)) and $3.06 (payment processing fee (per order)), $8.55 in total, and keep $91.45, an effective rate of 8.55%.
The same ticket with the fees passed on to the attendee: on $108.55 you pay $5.49 (service fee (per paid ticket)) and $3.06 (payment processing fee (per order)), $8.55 in total, and keep $100.00, an effective rate of 7.88%.

How much does Eventbrite take from a $100 ticket?
- On a $100 paid ticket a US organiser who absorbs the fees pays $5.49 in service fee and $3.06 in payment processing, $8.55 in all, and keeps $91.45 — an effective 8.55%. Pass the fees on instead and you keep the whole $100 while the attendee is charged $108.55.
Who pays Eventbrite's fees, the organiser or the attendee?
- Whichever you choose when you create the ticket type. Eventbrite's own default is that the buyer pays: leave the "Absorb fees" box unchecked and the attendee is charged the ticket price plus the Ticketing Fee. Tick it and the fee comes out of the price you set, so your payout is the price minus the fee. The fee itself is the same number either way, because it is always worked out from the ticket price.
Why is the payment processing fee more than 2.9% of my ticket price?
- Because the two fees use different bases. Eventbrite states that "Service fees are calculated using the ticket price. Payment processing fees are calculated using the total order (including service fees and tax)." On a $100 US ticket the service fee is $5.49, so processing is charged on $105.49 and comes to $3.06 rather than the $2.90 you would get from the ticket price alone. The United Kingdom and Australia have no separate processing line at all.
Does Eventbrite charge anything for a free event?
- No. Eventbrite's pricing page states that you can "publish unlimited free events at no cost", and its help centre adds that "if your tickets are free, you and your ticket-buyers don't pay any Ticketing Fees". Choose the free ticket type in the calculator, or enter a price of zero, and every fee line is zero.
How do I price a ticket so I keep a specific amount?
- Switch the calculator to "I want to net" and enter what you want to keep. To take home $100 on a US paid ticket while absorbing the fees you price the ticket at $109.16, and Eventbrite takes $9.16. Pass the fees on instead and you price at $100 while the attendee covers the rest.
Are these Eventbrite fees up to date?
- Every rate is quoted from Eventbrite's own organizer pricing page and its "Eventbrite's Ticketing Fees" help-centre article, checked on 3 September 2026 and re-checked at least every 60 days. The schedule is marked medium confidence: the US and Australian rates appear on both pages, but the UK 6.95% + £0.59 service fee — £7.54 on a £100 ticket — and the Canadian 3.5% + CA$1.29 come from the help-centre table alone, because the localized pricing pages served US copy when they were fetched.
