Every rule on Turo’s official schedule for United States, the market this calculator covers, as of 3 September 2026. Turo publishes the share you earn rather than a fee, so each rate below is the share it keeps: 100% minus the published host share. The damage responsibility in each row is what you owe towards eligible physical damage, not a deduction from the trip price.

How much does Turo take from a $100.00 trip?
For more peace of mind plan in United States, Turo charges 30% of the amount. Each fee line is rounded half-up to the nearest cent, as the platform bills it, and what you keep is the amount minus the sum of those lines.
A more peace of mind plan trip: on $100.00 you pay $30.00 (platform share of the trip price), and keep $70.00, an effective rate of 30%.
The same $100 trip on the Balanced plan: on $100.00 you pay $20.00 (platform share of the trip price), and keep $80.00, an effective rate of 20%.
The same $100 trip on the More earnings plan: on $100.00 you pay $10.00 (platform share of the trip price), and keep $90.00, an effective rate of 10%.
A three-day trip at $750 on the Balanced plan: on $750.00 you pay $150.00 (platform share of the trip price), and keep $600.00, an effective rate of 20%.

How much does Turo take from a trip?
- Between 10% and 30% of the trip price, set by the earnings plan your car is on. Turo states the figure the other way round: you earn 70% of the trip price on the More peace of mind plan, 80% on the Balanced plan and 90% on the More earnings plan, and Turo keeps the rest. Its glossary calls that remainder the Turo share and says it covers running the platform, customer service, marketing, roadside assistance and the damage responsibility Turo takes on above yours.
What is the difference between the three Turo earnings plans?
- The share you keep and the amount you owe if your car is damaged. More peace of mind pays you 70% and caps your damage responsibility at $250. Balanced pays 80% with a $1,500 damage responsibility. More earnings pays 90% with a $2,750 damage responsibility. All three include up to $750,000 in third-party liability insurance from Travelers, and they differ in how long you have to submit refuelling and distance reimbursements and how often Turo sends its host newsletter.
Is the damage responsibility a Turo fee?
- No, and the calculator never deducts it. Turo defines it as the amount you are responsible for in the event of eligible physical damage to your car during a trip, before Turo reimburses the rest. It is a per-claim exposure, not a per-trip charge, so it does not change your payout on a trip that ends without a claim. It is listed in the fee table because it is the trade-off you accept for a larger share.
Can I change my Turo earnings plan?
- Yes. Turo says you can choose a new plan at any time, but that any change applies only to future trips and not to trips already booked. It also states that the plan and damage responsibility are fixed by the date a trip is booked, so a booking made under an earlier plan keeps that plan's terms unless the vehicle is swapped afterwards.
Does the Turo host share change depending on where my car is?
- In nine US markets, yes. Turo names Austin, Dallas, Detroit, Las Vegas, Maui, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego and Seattle, where the host share is adjusted by how far in advance a guest books, within published ranges of 65-80% on More peace of mind, 75-90% on Balanced and 85-100% on More earnings. Turo publishes no formula for the adjustment, so this calculator uses the flat 70%, 80% and 90% that apply in most US markets.
How do I set a trip price that leaves me the payout I want?
- Switch the calculator to "I want to net" and enter the amount you want to keep. It finds the smallest trip price whose payout, after Turo's share on your plan, lands within one cent of your target. Remember what the trip price is: Turo defines it as what you charge for the days your car is booked, and says your share of it excludes certain fees and taxes, so the total a guest is billed and the total you are paid both differ from this number.
