Wise fees by country

Every rule on Wise’s official schedule for the 4 countries this calculator covers, as of 3 September 2026. The transfer rate is the starting rate Wise publishes, not a quote: the real fee depends on the currency, the amount and the route, and the app shows it before you confirm. The ATM rows charge their rate only on what you take out above the free monthly allowance, and the USD wire fee is charged in dollars in every market.

ATM withdrawalUnlike GB/DE/AU, the US mechanic is a flat 1.95 USD plus 1.95% charged on EACH withdrawal once the monthly allowance is used, not a single marginal percentage on the excess. Modelled here as one combined withdrawal above the allowance (allowance tier free, then 1.95% + a single 1.95 USD applied to the amount over the allowance) because the calculator takes one monthly ATM total, not a list of individual withdrawals; this understates the true cost of someone who withdraws in many small amounts after the allowance is used. How much does Wise take from a $100.00 transfer?

For cross-border transfer in United States, Wise charges 0.23% of the amount. Each fee line is rounded half-up to the nearest cent, as the platform bills it, and what you keep is the amount minus the sum of those lines.

A cross-border transfer transfer: on $100.00 you pay $0.23 (sending money abroad), and keep $99.77, an effective rate of 0.23%.

£300 of ATM withdrawals in one month: on £300.00 you pay £1.35 (aTM withdrawal), and keep £298.65, an effective rate of 0.45%.

The same £100 transfer, topping up an e-wallet: on £100.00 you pay £0.24 (sending money abroad) and £2.00 (topping up external e-wallets), £2.24 in total, and keep £97.76, an effective rate of 2.24%.

A $1,000 wire arriving in a US account: on $1,000.00 you pay $6.11 (receiving a USD wire or Swift payment), and keep $993.89, an effective rate of 0.61%.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Wise charge to send money?

Wise publishes a starting rate rather than one fixed rate: from 0.24% for a UK account, 0.23% for a US account, 0.20% for a German account and 0.19% for an Australian account. The real fee depends on the currency, the amount and the route, so treat the figure here as a floor and read the exact fee in the app before you confirm the transfer.

Is it free to receive money into a Wise account?

Receiving AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, HUF, NZD, PHP, SGD or USD into your local account details is free when the payment is not a wire or Swift transfer. An incoming USD wire or Swift payment costs a fixed 6.11 USD per payment, whichever country your account is registered in.

How much does Wise charge for ATM withdrawals?

You can withdraw 250 GBP, 250 EUR or 250 USD a month free, or 400 AUD on an Australian account. Above that, a UK, German or Australian account pays 2.69% of the amount over the allowance. A US account pays 1.95 USD plus 1.95% on each withdrawal once the 250 USD allowance is used. Enter the month's total: the fee is what Wise takes from your balance on top of the cash, and the machine's operator may add a charge of its own.

What does the Wise card cost?

The card is a one-time charge when Wise issues it: 7 GBP in the UK, 9 USD in the US, 7 EUR in Germany and 10 AUD in Australia, with no subscription. Spending funds you already hold in that currency is free. Topping up an external e-wallet or a similar account costs 2.00% in certain currencies. Both are toggles on this calculator and are off by default.

Why does the Wise app quote a different transfer fee?

Because Wise prices every transfer individually. Its pricing page states only a starting rate, and this calculator uses that rate so the figure is traceable to the page. Currency, amount and destination all move the real fee upward from it, and Wise shows the exact amount, and the mid-market exchange rate it will use, before you send.

Are these Wise fees up to date?

Every rate is quoted verbatim from Wise's own pricing page for the country in question and was checked on 3 September 2026. The page states no effective date, so this schedule is dated from that check. It is re-verified at least every 60 days and whenever Wise announces a change; confidence is marked medium because no second source restates Wise's commercial rates.

Sources and last verified

Every rate above is quoted from Wise’s official fee page and checked by a person on . Cross-checked against the official page at wise.com/help/articles/2522717/fees-for-sending-money. Single source: not every rate is restated by a second official page, so some rest on the official page alone.

Standard published rates only. Your account may have negotiated, promotional or legacy pricing, and the platform can change fees at any time. Confirm figures that matter with Wise before relying on them. See the methodology and disclaimer.
