Kajabi fees explained for 2026

By Fees.tools · Updated · Fees verified

Kajabi takes no platform commission. What a US sale costs is Kajabi Payments processing and nothing else: 2.9% + $0.30 on the Basic plan, 2.8% + $0.30 on Growth and 2.7% + $0.30 on Pro. This guide sets the schedule out as Kajabi publishes it, with every figure computed by the same engine as the Kajabi fee calculator. The rates are quoted from Kajabi's US payments fee page, cross-checked against the plan table on its pricing page, and were verified on 4 September 2026.

What a sale costs

ChargeRateWhen it applies
Kajabi Payments, Basic2.9% + $0.30Card transactions on the Basic plan
Kajabi Payments, Growth2.8% + $0.30Card transactions on the Growth plan
Kajabi Payments, Pro2.7% + $0.30Card transactions on the Pro plan
International card+ 1.5%The card is issued outside your registered business location
Subscriptions and payment plans+ 0.7%Every recurring charge, the first included
ACH Direct Debit0.80%, capped at $5.00Instead of the card rate, on any plan

There is no revenue share anywhere in that list. Kajabi's page frames the whole schedule as conditional — "The following fees can apply... You'll only be charged for the ones relevant to your transaction" — and a plain card sale touches exactly one line of it.

On a $199 course sold on Basic, the fee on $199.00 is $6.07 and you keep $192.93, an effective rate of 3.05%. On the same sale on Pro, the fee on $199.00 is $5.67 and you keep $193.33, an effective rate of 2.85%.

Twenty basis points is the whole spread between the cheapest and dearest plan rates, so the plan choice is a subscription decision, not a fee decision. What a plan costs per month is not a per-sale fee, no rule states it, and the calculator never deducts it.

The two surcharges

Both are added on top of the plan's rate rather than replacing it.

On a $199 charge inside a subscription or payment plan, the fee on $199.00 is $7.46 ($6.07 Kajabi Payments — Basic plan plus $1.39 subscription / payment plan surcharge) and you keep $191.54, an effective rate of 3.75%. On a $199 sale to a card issued abroad, the fee on $199.00 is $9.06 ($6.07 Kajabi Payments — Basic plan plus $2.99 international card surcharge) and you keep $189.94, an effective rate of 4.55%.

The recurring surcharge is the one worth planning around: it applies to every charge including the first, so a course sold as four monthly payments carries it four times, and each of those payments also pays the fixed 30 cents.

ACH replaces the card rate, and it is capped

A bank debit is priced as an alternative to a card, not an addition, and it is the only line in the schedule with a ceiling.

On a $199 sale paid by ACH, the fee on $199.00 is $1.59 and you keep $197.41, an effective rate of 0.8%. On a $1,000 sale paid by ACH, the fee on $1,000.00 is $5.00 and you keep $995.00, an effective rate of 0.5%. On the same $1,000 sale paid by card, the fee on $1,000.00 is $29.30 and you keep $970.70, an effective rate of 2.93%.

From $625 up the cap has bitten and every extra dollar of price is free of processing, which makes ACH the obvious ask on a high-ticket offer — with the caveat that Kajabi also lists a verification fee and a failed-payment fee on ACH, neither of which has a rule here and neither of which is priced.

Pricing to a target payout

To keep $199.00 you charge $205.25, and the fee is $6.25. To keep $1,000.00 you charge $1,028.06, and the fee is $28.06.

What this guide leaves out

Kajabi's fee page lists more than is modelled here: Afterpay and Klarna rates, a per-transaction Kajabi Sales Tax charge, invoicing and manual-purchase surcharges, a dispute fee, currency conversion, instant payout, and the two ACH fees mentioned above. Each needs its own quoted rule before it can be priced, and none has one yet. Also outside this guide: creators outside the United States, third-party gateways used instead of Kajabi Payments, and the monthly plan prices.

When these rates last changed

The fee page carries no effective date, so every rate is dated from the day it was verified: 4 September 2026. The Kajabi fee changelog holds that single entry, later changes are added there against the rule they affect, and the schedule is re-checked at least every 60 days.

Confidence is high on the three card rates, which agree between the US fee page and the pricing page's plan table. The international, ACH and subscription surcharges come from the fee page alone and are not independently corroborated.

Frequently asked questions

Does Kajabi take a cut of my sales?

No commission, no revenue share. You pay Kajabi a monthly plan price and, on each sale, a payment-processing rate that is close to what a standalone processor charges.

Which plan has the cheapest processing?

Pro, at 2.7% + $0.30, then Growth at 2.8% + $0.30, then Basic at 2.9% + $0.30. On a $199 sale that spread is 40 cents.

How does Kajabi compare with course platforms that do take a cut?

The Teachable fee calculator prices a transaction fee on its entry plan and none above it, and the Gumroad fee calculator prices a flat platform cut with processing bundled in. Kajabi is the one where the platform's own cut is zero and the whole bill is the processor's.

Where do these numbers come from?

Every rate is quoted from Kajabi's own help centre, saved as a dated snapshot and checked by a person. The methodology explains the check, the schedule is quoted line by line in the calculator's fee table, and if a figure here disagrees with what Kajabi shows you, report it.
