Walmart Marketplace fees by country
Every rule on Walmart Marketplace’s official schedule for United States, the market this calculator covers, as of 3 September 2026. The referral fee is the only fee on this schedule, and it is charged on the total sales price, which Walmart defines as the item price plus shipping and handling, gift wrap and other charges. Five categories switch rate on the whole price at a breakpoint — Apparel & Accessories at $15 and $20, Baby Products and Beauty at $10, Grocery at $15, Outdoor Power Tools at $500 — so a cent more on the price re-rates the whole sale. Five others are graduated, where the second rate applies only to the portion above the breakpoint: Appliances - Compact, Electronics Accessories, Indoor & Outdoor Furniture, Jewelry and Precious Metals, and Watches. Walmart Fulfillment Services fulfilment and storage fees are billed separately and are not included.

How much does Walmart Marketplace take from a $100.00 sale?
For home, kitchen, decor & garden in United States, Walmart Marketplace charges 15% of the amount. Each fee line is rounded half-up to the nearest cent, as the platform bills it, and what you keep is the amount minus the sum of those lines.
A home, kitchen, decor & garden sale: on $100.00 you pay $15.00 (Home, Kitchen, Decor & Garden), and keep $85.00, an effective rate of 15%.
A $14.99 Apparel & Accessories sale, at or under Walmart's $15 breakpoint: on $14.99 you pay $0.75 (Apparel & Accessories), and keep $14.24, an effective rate of 5%.
The same apparel item at $20.01, where 15% now applies to the whole price: on $20.01 you pay $3.00 (Apparel & Accessories), and keep $17.01, an effective rate of 14.99%.
A $1,000 jewelry sale, where 5% applies only to the portion above $250: on $1,000.00 you pay $87.50 (jewelry and Precious Metals), and keep $912.50, an effective rate of 8.75%.
A $600 Outdoor Power Tools sale, where crossing $500 drops the whole price to 8%: on $600.00 you pay $48.00 (Outdoor Power Tools), and keep $552.00, an effective rate of 8%.
A $100 personal computer, the lowest rate on the schedule: on $100.00 you pay $6.00 (Personal Computers), and keep $94.00, an effective rate of 6%.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Walmart Marketplace take from a sale?
- A referral fee set by the item's contract category, and nothing else. Thirteen of the thirty-five categories charge a flat 15%, including Home, Kitchen, Decor & Garden, Books, Toys & Games, Pet Supplies, Tools & Home Improvement and the catch-all Everything Else, and it is also the top rate several tiered categories reach. The other flat rates are 6% on Personal Computers, 8% on Consumer Electronics, Camera & Photo, Major Appliances, Video Game Consoles and Collectibles, 10% on Tires & Wheels and on Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Ventilation, and 12% on Automotive & Powersports, Base Power Tools, Musical Instruments and Industrial & Scientific Supplies. The highest rate on the schedule is the 20% Jewelry and Precious Metals pays on the first $250 of a sale.
Does Walmart Marketplace charge a monthly or setup fee?
- No. Walmart's pricing page states that Walmart Marketplace and Walmart Fulfillment Services "operate with competitive cost structures including zero setup, monthly, or hidden fees". There is no subscription to sell, no listing fee and no per-order fee on this schedule, so the referral fee is the whole platform charge on a completed sale. That is unlike Amazon, which charges a Professional selling plan monthly, and eBay, which adds a per-order fee to its category rate.
What amount is the Walmart referral fee charged on?
- The total sales price, which Walmart defines as including "item price as well as shipping and handling, gift wrap and other charges". So the fee base is not the item price alone: shipping you charge the customer is part of it. Add those charges to the item price and type the total into the amount box. The fee is a percentage of the gross sales of each product sold, charged per item rather than per order, so a basket of items in different categories pays each item's own rate.
Which Walmart categories change rate at a price breakpoint?
- Ten of them, in two different ways. Five switch the rate on the whole price: Apparel & Accessories pays 5% at $15 or less, 10% between $15 and $20 and 15% above $20; Baby Products and Beauty, Health and Personal Care pay 8% at $10 or less and 15% above; Grocery pays 8% at $15 or less and 15% above; Outdoor Power Tools pays 15% up to $500 and 8% above. Five are graduated, charging the second rate only on the portion above the breakpoint: Appliances - Compact (12%, then 8% above $300), Electronics Accessories (15%, then 8% above $100), Indoor & Outdoor Furniture (15%, then 10% above $200), Jewelry and Precious Metals (20%, then 5% above $250) and Watches (15%, then 3% above $1,500). The calculator applies whichever shape the category's own published wording states.
Does this calculator include Walmart Fulfillment Services fees?
- No. This schedule covers the referral fee only. Walmart Fulfillment Services fulfilment, storage and related charges are billed on their own terms and are not modelled here, so a WFS seller pays the fee this calculator shows plus their WFS invoice. A few categories also carry a sub-type exception the calculator does not split out: Office Products is 15% but 12% for printer cartridges, and Outdoors Products and Sports is 15% but 8% for hunting trail monitors, binoculars, telescopes, spotting scopes and night vision goggles. Both exceptions are noted in the fee table.
Are these Walmart Marketplace fees up to date?
- Every rate here is quoted verbatim from Walmart's own pricing page and shows the date it was checked, 3 September 2026. Confidence is high: the seller-help referral fee schedule for contract categories states identical rates and breakpoints for all thirty-five categories, and that guide was last updated 9 March 2026. The schedule is re-verified at least every 60 days, and the changelog records any change with its date.
